Description:

If you’re looking for a way to alter the flow of time in your game, this tool might just be what you need.

The idea is simple – this plugin allows you to create specific zones where time can be manipulated. This means you can slow down, speed up, or completely change time. You have the flexibility to apply these effects either globally or per actor.

You can also set up triggers when your character enters or exits these zones. Maybe you want to fire up some particle effects or play certain sounds, the choice is yours.

To help you stay in control of who gets affected by these time changes, I’ve also added the option for actor tags and class filters. This way, you can specify exactly which actors you want to interact within these zones.

Step-by-step:
Add Time-Dilation Zone asset to your project
Go to TimeDilationZone/Blueprints folder
Place BP_TimeDilationZone in your level
Select it and change options in the Details Panel

FAQs/Support:
Q – Can you make Ragdolls only within a zone simulate with slowed time dilation?
A – Hi, Unfortunately in Unreal right now the physics of the actors is only affected when you change global time dilation. I did not find a good workaround for this. Except for changing global time dilation, you can try changing the physics of the ragdoll mesh to “simulate” the look of slow motion. You can use the blueprint interface(BPI_TimeDilation) to change the properties of the ragdoll mesh when it enters and exits the zone. Some useful options to make it look slow motion are mass scale, Linear damping, angular damping, max angular velocity, and Inertia Tensor scale. If I find any satisfying solution for this, I will update the plugin and let you know.

Changelog:
Update1- Fixed the interface begin overlap and end overlap triggers. Now It will also work on AI controllers.
